Flash Game
My partner and I choose the snake tutorial because it seemed easy and fun. Not knowing anything how to make a flash game or how it is made, seemed like a challenge for us. The main parts that were frustrating for both of us were changing the images into our own. But once we got the hang of it on our first image which was the Bee, we were able to change the rest. Once we were able to change all of our images, our background to look like a place a bee would be cruising around and make our game work, we were finished!! After that, we got feedback from our classmates on how to improve it, what could be fixed, and f it was fun or not, etc. We didn't have to change much, other than the size of the bee.
Before:
blockSize = 8; // the block width/height in number of pixels
gameHeight = 30 // the game height in number of blocks
gameWidth = 45; // the game width in number of blocks
SNAKE_BLOCK = 2; // holds the number used to mark snake blocks in the map
After:
blockSize = 16; // the block width/height in number of pixels
gameHeight = 33 // the game height in number of blocks
gameWidth = 45; // the game width in number of blocks
SNAKE_BLOCK = 2; // holds the number used to mark snake blocks in the map
How and Why we Changed it?
In the code, we changed our block size, game height, and the game width. I made the block size bigger so it won't look so tiny compared to the screen. But since I changed that, I also had to change the height and width in order for the size of the block to fit.
