Dance Dance Re-Volt-ution Project
For the Dance Dance Re-Volt-ution Project me, Mandalyn, Chloe and Connor worked together to make dance pads using a light bulb, wires and AA batteries. We first had to plan how we were going to make our dance pads and see how we would put a circuit together. Once we got our materials that would make the dance pads we started to put it together. The materials we mainly used were aluminum foil, duct tape and cardboard. We first made prototypes and along the way we started making the final product of the shoes we were making and the dance pads. Once we were on the edge of finishing our dance pads, Mandalyn and I started working on the dance routine. The song for our dance had to be ~30 seconds long. The song we used was Classic by MKTO. In order to make sure all of our circuits worked we needed to use all four dance pads in our dance routine. In the end we decorated the dance pads. We put paw prints in each corner of the cardboard since our team were called Snow Pandas. We were paired up with a teacher to compete in our own little team competition. I showed him the dance routine and he got the dance real fast. It was fun during the whole process because we were creative and trying out different designs for the dance pads. Dancing was the best part of the project because Mandalyn and I had to make up our own dance routine. Which was kind of hard, plus with the song we were using we had to make it go along. Overall the project was amazing. I like how every group, even mine spent time working together creating this project.
How a circuit works:
With wires, a light bulb and AA batteries and a conductor can make a circuit work. If you connect one end of a wire to the battery and another wire to the other side of the battery. One end of wire is touching the conductor and the other wire is touching the light bulb.

Difference between insulators and conductors:
An insulator is when it does not let electricity flow such as an eraser, dogs, a pencil, a hand and money. Conductors are metals. So conductors allow electricity to flow such as a penny, paperclip and a hook.
- Cardboard
- AA Batteries
- Wires
- Alligator Clip
- Glitter
- Glue
- Silver Paint
- Shoe Laces (for dance pad shoes)

When we had our Dance Dance Re-Volt-Ution competition we had all of the teachers show their dance that they prepared with the group of students they were assigned to. Watching the teachers was fun, some were very hysterical. However we did not win or even get an honorable mention. Our dance pad did work, all the lights lit up. Overall, the project was fun throughout the process of making the dance pads and making a dance routine with our teachers and performing it in the big day.
